Clive Sheard’s clean finger picking and warm vocal style combine to give
faithful interpretations of the songs of Reverend Gary Davis,
Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Boy Fuller and many others.
As a young teenager he struggled to learn guitar on
an almost unplayable
12 string which he rendered playable (just), with the aid of the contents
of his father’s tool shed. Since those early days he has been known for his booming
delivery of the 12 string guitar styles of Leadbelly and Blind Willie McTell.
For some time he has been a member of
the Sutton Blues Collective
which is a Midlands
based collective of musicians whose aim is to promote live blues performances. He has also been a
frequent contributer to the Blues In Britain Magazine.
