I have two configurations that I can use when playing live, depending on what is required of me.
I can provide a complete p.a. with microphones, speakers and mixer when I am booked to play alone.
Or as is more commonly the case, I can hook up to the house p.a. This second scenario I use a couple
of pre-amps one for each guitar so that they can have different tone and volume settings and an A/B
switch to select which one is presented to the house p.a. system. This is mounted on a small pedal
board in front of me giving me some degree of control on stage over what is happening. By far the
best sound is gained from using my own microphones and mixer unit, but the setup time is longer
and it means a lot more equipment has to be transported.
